Woman Between Darkness and the Blood of Life
An acrylic on watercolor paper, 29.5 × 42 cm, in which broad black marks and sharp touches of red build a tense field. Inside the tangle a female figure appears — not as a planned portrait, but as a form that surfaced between the marks. The contrast between black and red is the heart of the work: weight and darkness on one side, a sign of life and movement on the other. It was made intuitively, with no advance decision about the final image, and it is characteristic of the way Zvi Aharon lets an image rise out of feeling rather than the other way around.
