The Artistic Language
The most accurate classification for the work is intuitive figurative expressionism.
Intuitive
There is no sketch and no plan for the final image. A work starts from a movement, a colour or an emotional state, and the figure appears along the way. That is why the same work can be read differently by different viewers.
Abstract-figurative
The works are neither fully abstract nor realistic. There is always a human presence — a face, a body, a gaze — but it is built from layers of line and mark rather than from exact description.
Expressive and emotional
Colour does not describe reality but intensity. Red, blue, black and yellow recur as fields of feeling, and the tension between them is usually the real subject of the work.
