Gaze of Passion

An acrylic on watercolor paper, 29.5 × 42 cm. A dense web of white, blue and red lines fills the whole sheet, and out of it the lines of a face and a gaze emerge. The density is not noise: it is the record of a process in which every pass of the brush added emotional information. The image was not defined in advance, and the gaze that finally appeared is what gave the work its name. It belongs to the group of Aharon's paintings concerned with desire, human closeness and the tension between them.
