Full as a Pomegranate
Full as a Pomegranate is a watercolor on watercolor paper, 29.5 × 42 cm. Inside a rounded orange-red form, many faces crowd together against a green-yellow ground. That multiplicity was not planned: it appeared during the work, as each added line revealed another figure. The painting belongs to Zvi Aharon's intuitive language, in which a single image holds a whole world of faces, gazes and moods. It can be read as a painting about abundance, about the many faces inside one person, or about a dense human community — the reading stays open to the viewer.
